David Johnston, Animal Control Officer

The Animal Control Office is responsible for animal welfare in Dallas County. Responsibilities include responding to citizen's complaints, rescuing and detaining animals, investigating animal cruelty cases, and capturing rabid and severely wounded animals.

In Dallas County, the Animal Control Officers also handle large animal complaints. (i.e. Horses, Cattle, etc.)

For animals roaming at large, the County follows the State of Alabama laws.
