The Dallas County Commission operates two solid waste transfer stations within the county limits. One is located north of the City of Orrville at the intersection of County Road 3 and County Road 33. Another is located on State Highway 41 approximately five miles south of the City of Selma.

These stations are open to the public approximately six (6) days a week, from 7:00 am - 4:00pm. There is no charge for citizens of Dallas County to dump solid waste at either facility.

The Department employs a litter crew responsible for collecting roadside litter and diminishing illegal garbage dumps within the county limits.

The Department also operates, within season, a county wide mosquito control program. It is a two- pronged program. The first is a larvaciding program that destroys the insect at the larval stages; the second is an adulticiding program that kills the adult mosquito with an airborne spray application of adulticide. Source reduction is also key to the success of this county program.
