Dallas County is currently seeking a full-time Real Property Appraiser.

Job duties include performing field appraisals, locating and measuring improvements constructed on various parcels located in the county, using the collected data to establish property values, and providing the property owner with an explanation of the valuation process.

Qualifications

  • Some appraisal experience preferred.
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, taxation law, or a related field.
  • An Associate’s Degree and three years experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license with a good driving record and be insurable.
  • Must be able to travel and to work overtime, if required.
  • Must have the ability to become certified within a specific period of time as an Alabama Certified Appraiser (Real Property Tract) through the State Property Tax Education and Certification Program.
  • Must be able to attend and successfully complete continuing education courses offered through the Property Tax Education Program.
