The Dallas County Commission operates two(2) solid waste transfer stations within the county limits. One is located north of the City of Orrville at the intersection of County Road 3 and County Road 33. Another is located on State Highway 41 approximately five miles south of the City of Selma.

These stations are open to the public approximately six(6) days a week, from 7:00 am - 4:00pm. There is no charge for citizens of Dallas County to dump solid waste at either facility.

The Department also has a litter control program that consists of a two(2) man litter crew that utilizes inmates from the county jail to collect roadside litter and abate illegal garbage dumps within the county limits.

The Department also operates, within season, a county wide mosquito control program. It is a two(2) pronged program. The first is a larvaciding program that destroys the insect at the sarval stages; the second is an adulticiding program that kills the adult mosquito with an airborne spray application of adulticide. Source reduction is also key to the sucess of this county program.
