                                                          PARKS WORKER

      

Dallas County is currently seeking a part-time Parks Worker to assist the Park Manager at Paul Grist State Park.   Duties will include cutting grass, cleaning office, bathrooms, visitor and work areas, assisting campers and volunteers, collecting fees and taking reservations.

Qualifications:  Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency; must have the ability to handle money and to maintain accurate records; must have ability to perform general cleaning and custodial work; previous experience in groundskeeping a plus; familiarity with Grist State Park preferred but not required. Must be able to interact with the public in a pleasant manner.  Must be able to work flexible hours.

CDL TRUCK DRIVER

 

THE DALLAS COUNTY COMMISSION IS SEEKING CANDIDATES FOR THE

FOLLOWING POSITION:

 

CDL TRUCK DRIVER – Applicant must have a valid State of Alabama Driver’s License and be insurable by the Dallas County insurance carrier.

Duties will include operating equipment, including but not limited to, tri-axle dump trucks, miscellaneous trucks, construction equipment, tractors, forklifts, air compressors, etc.; skilled and unskilled labor and other duties as required.  Applicant must have the ability to work well with others.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TESTING WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT AND, IF EMPLOYED, EMPLOYEE WILL BE SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING.

Detention Counselor

(Part-Time) Male

 

 

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Juvenile Detention Director, the Detention Counselor will direct the activities of detained youth in all areas.  The Counselor will maintain the safety of detainees at all times, conduct regular check of detainees and maintain order in facility.  Serves meals, supervise youth during visiting hours and may transport detainees to various appointments.  Performs various housekeeping duties or supervise detainees in this function.  Detention Counselor must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency and be able to work flexible hours and be on call on a rotating basis.  Detention Counselor must also have a good temperament and ability to function well in stressful situations.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with detainees, staff, law enforcement personnel, and others, orally and in writing;
  • Ability to efficiently plan and organize work;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, detainees, and other professionals;
  • Ability to work with maladjusted juveniles;
  • Ability and willingness work as a part of a professional team;

Education

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years job related experience preferred not required
