                                              Field Appraiser

     Dallas County is currently seeking a full-time Field Appraiser.  In addition to performing field appraisals, duties will include providing assistance to the real property appraiser as required to maintain a current appraisal program; interviewing property owners to obtain and record building and construction data, and locating and measuring improvements constructed on the various parcels located in the county.

Qualifications:  Some appraisal experience preferred. Must have Associate’s Degree with course studies in accounting, finance or related field. Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license with a good driving record and be insurable.  Must be able to travel and to work overtime, if required.  Must be able to attend and successfully complete continuing education courses offered through the Property Tax Education Program.

Detention Counselor

(Part-Time) Male

 

 

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Juvenile Detention Director, the Detention Counselor will direct the activities of detained youth in all areas.  The Counselor will maintain the safety of detainees at all times, conduct regular check of detainees and maintain order in facility.  Serves meals, supervise youth during visiting hours and may transport detainees to various appointments.  Performs various housekeeping duties or supervise detainees in this function.  Detention Counselor must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency and be able to work flexible hours and be on call on a rotating basis.  Detention Counselor must also have a good temperament and ability to function well in stressful situations.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with detainees, staff, law enforcement personnel, and others, orally and in writing;
  • Ability to efficiently plan and organize work;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, detainees, and other professionals;
  • Ability to work with maladjusted juveniles;
  • Ability and willingness work as a part of a professional team;

Education

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years job related experience preferred not required
