   Probate Clerk (Part-time)

      

Dallas County is currently seeking a Part-time Probate Clerk to work 30-32 hours per week.  Under the direction of the Probate Judge and the Chief Clerk, the Probate Clerk performs responsible technical and clerical work, including handling all mentally incompetent petitions, assigning hearings and arranging transport to area hospitals. In addition, the Probate Clerk assists the public with name changes and genealogical information and performs related clerical duties.

Qualifications:  HS diploma or equivalency required; 1-3 years previous clerical experience preferred as well as some knowledge of legal procedures and terminology. Must be computer literate.  Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to comprehend laws, regulations and a variety of legal instruments. 

Must be able to lift office materials and books of significant weight.

                                             Children’s Services Coordinator

Dallas County Court Services is currently seeking a full-time Children’s Services Coordinator working under the supervision of the Project Director.  Responsibilities will include admitting and assessing new clients, determining their need for various evaluations, establishing treatment programs, coordinating services and resources, and   evaluating treatment results as well as providing educational resources to staff and adhering to budget guidelines.

Qualifications:  This is a professional position; qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years work experience in case management, children’s services, health care services or related field.  Must possess skills in documentation, information analysis, decision making, research, and conflict resolution.  Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to connect with children.

CDL TRUCK DRIVER

 

THE DALLAS COUNTY COMMISSION IS SEEKING CANDIDATES FOR THE

FOLLOWING POSITION:

 

CDL TRUCK DRIVER – Applicant must have a valid State of Alabama Driver’s License and be insurable by the Dallas County insurance carrier.

Duties will include operating equipment, including but not limited to, tri-axle dump trucks, miscellaneous trucks, construction equipment, tractors, forklifts, air compressors, etc.; skilled and unskilled labor and other duties as required.  Applicant must have the ability to work well with others.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TESTING WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT AND, IF EMPLOYED, EMPLOYEE WILL BE SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING.

Detention Counselor

(Part-Time) Male

 

 

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Juvenile Detention Director, the Detention Counselor will direct the activities of detained youth in all areas.  The Counselor will maintain the safety of detainees at all times, conduct regular check of detainees and maintain order in facility.  Serves meals, supervise youth during visiting hours and may transport detainees to various appointments.  Performs various housekeeping duties or supervise detainees in this function.  Detention Counselor must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency and be able to work flexible hours and be on call on a rotating basis.  Detention Counselor must also have a good temperament and ability to function well in stressful situations.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with detainees, staff, law enforcement personnel, and others, orally and in writing;
  • Ability to efficiently plan and organize work;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, detainees, and other professionals;
  • Ability to work with maladjusted juveniles;
  • Ability and willingness work as a part of a professional team;

Education

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years job related experience preferred not required
